    About me

    I am a PhD student at the the Department of Engineering and Design at the University of Sussex, supervised by Prof Zhengguo Sheng and Prof Falah Ali. My last position is a Senior Engineer working at Marvell Technology Inc. in Shanghai, China.

    In 2021, I completed the M.Sc. Degree in 5G Mobile Communications and Intelligent Embedded Systems in the Department of Engineering and Design at the University of Sussex. The topic of my thesis is "Benchmarking deep learning on wearable platform", supervised by Prof Daniel Roggen.

    I received the Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from University of Liverpool, Liverpool, the UK in 2019. I studied in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Electronics, supervised by Dr Roberto Ferrero as my tutor and later Dr Angel Garcia-Fernandez in my final-year project. My final-year project was on "Implementation and evaluation of ensemble Kalman filters". I studied the performance of the ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) algorithm in different models. The project includes: the linear tracking problem, non-linear benchmark and 40-dimensional Lorenz-96 model. The EnKF is compared with standard Kalman filter in linear problem and extended Kalman filter in non-linear models, using the Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) as measure of performance. The result had shown the EnKF has utility in the extremely non-linear and high-dimensional problems.

  • I have been a keen supporter of Everton FC since I arrived in Liverpool in 2015.(Alrite la!)
  • My favourite footballers are Leighton Baines and Jordan Pickford.
  • I obtained the FA Level 1 award in coaching football using my spare time in 2018.
  • I enjoy traveling to new places. Here are photo collections of people I met and places I visited.
  • I taught myself HTML, therefore this website was built.
  • I like exotic cuisines. I enjoy Vietnamese (Phở nạm bò), Peruvian (Ceviche and Lomo Saltado) and Argentine (Asado and Patagonia/Quilmes beer) foods.
  • I also have interests in many genres of music. My favourite musicians are Zhang Chu (张楚), Jorge Ben Jor and Oasis.
